Hard Model Gallery

CHD has produced many full size hard models for final project approval over the years. A selection of some of these is shown on this page.

Other than wheels and tyres, brakes and suspension almost everything that you see in these images (including engine and exhaust) are models produced by CHD for final project approval.

Typically the models are built on the clay buck that has been used for the earlier development phases and the components are a combination of painted model board (generally more recently machined in-house by CHD), SLAs and SLSs and parts machined from billet.

CHD are able to replicate or simulate final production intent finishes, from paint spraying, to metal finishing, shot-blasting and brushing. In some instances front and rear lighting closely simulates the final intent and seats are upholstered to reflect the final product.

The level of hard model is generally adjusted to suit the client’s requirements and budget and CHD also have a long experience of producing painted clay models when a hard model is not deemed necessary.
